The barrel has no rust or pitting present. The magazine tube exhibits several smalls spots of pitting on the underside. The right side of the lever has one spot of pitting. The wood furniture exhibits moderate wear to the finish and some light scrapes. It has some wear on the body but the view through it is excellent. A hammer extension has been added for ease of use. The rear sight’s elevator was removed to make room for the scope. The M49 and M72 turned out to be good little guns though. So much so that Ithaca replaced almost all of them with model 72 as I recall.
